Commissioner, TRTI Pune is chairman of 8 Schedule tribe caste certificate Scrutiny Committee’s situated at Pune, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nandurbar, Amravati, Nagpur, Gadchiroli. The Government in Tribal Development Department has declare Commissioner TRTI as a coordinator of all these Scrutiny Committee’s.

The separate cell called co-ordination desk is created at the level of Tribal Research and Training Institute, Pune in the Year 2005. This desk has administrative control over the work of Scrutiny Committee’s.  This desk watches the progress of the disposal of cases disposed of by these Scrutiny Committee’s from time to time. The daily/ weekly/ monthly and annual progress report is generated by this desk and submitted regularly to the Government. Commissioner, Tribal Research and Training Institute Pune regularly watches the progress of the disposal of the cases of these Committees.

A separate Legal Cell is also establish under this desk to look after the court cases filed against the decision of scrutiny committee where in the Commissioner, Tribal Research and Training Institute Pune is made party in to the case. All other legal matters are also look after by this Cell.
